Mofizul Islam, popularly known as Mofizul Sadiq in journalist circles received ‘Global Youth Leadership Award 2023’.
He was nominated for this award in recognition of his contribution in helping neglected and rural marginalised people with medical services, inspiring youth through writing, launching social movements and creating awareness in agriculture and women empowerment.
On March 18, Abdullah Ahmad Al Saleh, undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy in the UAE presented this award.
At this time, President of the Global Youth Parliament Diwakar Aryal, Nepal’s Youth and Sports Minister Surendra Basnet were present.
Antu Karim, head of Global Youth Parliament Bangladesh accepted the award on behalf of Mofizul Islam.
For the last 10 years at the national university level of the country, he has been involved in various activities like encouraging students to donate blood voluntarily.
He himself has voluntarily donated blood to many people.
He has always come forward to treat many helpless people and children of the village.
At the same time, he has been working in the field of development and agriculture through journalism for the past one year, creating awareness and empowering women.
He has written hundreds of reports on the benefits and shortcomings of the country's development projects.
The award was given at the World Youth Leadership Conference held in Dubai in March this year.
The Global Youth Parliament is an organization that recognizes youth development initiatives around the world.
Besides, the organization encourages youth to work in social work, entrepreneurship, democracy, sustainable development for a better world.
Each year the Global Youth Leadership Summit awards three categories to inspiring young people.
In continuation of this, in the current year, awards were given to young people in the three categories of ‘Global Youth Leadership Award 2023’, ‘The Emerging Leader Award 2023’ and ‘Global Youth Entrepreneurship Award 2023’.
It is reported that Mofizul Sadiq was nominated for this year’s ‘Global Youth Leadership Award 2023’ in recognition of his significant contributions in two areas of society.
One of them is encouraging young people to donate blood voluntarily. He is working with voluntary blood donors. He has been involved in various social organizations since his university days.
Mofizul Sadiq was born on July 1, 1989 in Noapara village of Kathuli union in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district.
He joined online news portal topnews.com as a freelance reporter while pursuing graduation in Geography and Environmental Science.
On 15 February 2012, he joined news portal banglanews24.com as a reporter. He was promoted as a senior reporter there in 2016.
He has been working in economics since the beginning of journalism.
