We greet Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus on his assumption of new responsibilities as chief adviser of the interim government. We also congratulate the members of the council of advisers of the interim government. A 16-member council of the interim government, led by Dr Yunus, was sworn in at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
We also wish Dr Yunus-led interim government’s journey a success and offer his advisers best wishes. He (Dr Yunus) has urged the people of the country to join hands with him to advance the country, saying the students have given rebirth to the country.
We strongly believe that under Dr Yunus’ prudent leadership, democracy will be restored in the country, normalcy will return and security of general people will be ensured soon. People of the country are hopeful about Dr Yunus’ success in leading the interim government. The students and general people have given him (Dr Yunus) this great responsibility on behalf of the whole nation. We believe Dr Yunus will fulfil all hopes and aspirations of the people of the country through his able and dynamic leadership.
Being imbued with the spirit of the student movement, all will have to extend all-out cooperation with the interim government. People think that Dr Yunus is capable of leading the nation during this tough time. We all believe Dr Yunus-led interim government would materialise dreams of the people and thus give them an improved and better life. Therefore, we believe the interim government will implement their pledges based on which they assumed power.

of the people of the country.
The Secretariat and some ministries have started getting a new look following the swearing in of the interim government. Ministry officials are eagerly waiting to welcome the chief adviser and advisers with bouquets. New nameplates have been installed on the doors of their office rooms. As the chief adviser, Dr Yunus entrusted the advisers with the responsibilities of different ministries, and advisers vowed to carry out their duties with honesty and sincerity.
We think the interim government will face many challenges in political, diplomatic and economic fields in the days to come. We, however, belive they will do whatever is needed for the welfare of the people, braving all odds. The interim government should give top priority to advancing the country, containing the price hike of essential commodities and ensure security of the people.
Bangladesh is an independent and sovereign country and it wants to move independently. Our country might be small in size, but we have huge population with educated young generation. The people are the biggest asset and strength of the country.
Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus-led interim government will also have to take necessary steps to make the services corruption-free, in line with their commitment. All believe with the combination of elders and youths, the interim government will encourage people to go ahead.
We hope the members of the council led by Dr Yunus will do everything to take away all sorrows, pains, and fears from the country. We also believe the chief adviser and his 16 advisers will bring new hopes to the nation’s social, political, economic, and all other areas.
