The producers of the popular "John Wick" series, Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, have announced their plans to remake the Indian action thriller "Kill" in English.

The original Hindi film, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by well-known Indian filmmaker Karan Johar, is set to release in India on July 5. "Kill" tells the story of Indian Army commando Amrit, played by Lakshya, who must fight to save Tulika, portrayed by Tanya Maniktala, on a train to New Delhi.

"Kill" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness section and was also shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film received praise for its thrilling action sequences and gripping story.

Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment will lead the English-language remake. Stahelski expressed his excitement about working on the remake, stating that the action sequences in the original deserve a broader audience.

The decision to remake "Kill" in English highlights the growing global appeal of Indian cinema. The producers are excited about the collaboration and noted the positive reception at international festivals.

The original film's cast, including Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala, received acclaim for their performances. The remake aims to preserve the original's core while introducing it to a wider English-speaking audience.

The "John Wick" series, starring Keanu Reeves, has been a massive success. The next film in the franchise, "Ballerina," starring Ana de Armas, is set to release on June 6, 2025.
