‘Jobs will get priority to AL election manifesto’

Awami League (AL) Presidium Member DrAbdurRazzaque on Sunday said employment issue will get priority to the party'selection manifesto in the next JatiyaSangsad (JS) polls.

He said this at a view exchange meeting between AL Election Manifesto Formulation Committee and professionals at the party's central office in the city's Bangabandhu Avenue.

Razzaque, also the agriculture minister, said Awami League has been a people's party since its inception and it has always been run on the basis of party constitution, goals, objectives and ideals.

Noting that AL never came to power following secret path or unconstitutional way, he said AL practices democracy and runs with the spirit of democratic values.

BSS adds: In the elections in which Awami League participated, it announced the election manifesto highlighting the aspirations of the people, he added.

AL election manifesto for 2018 election was titled as "Bangladesh on the March of Prosperity", Razzaque said, adding, "We tried to attain everything we mentioned in that manifesto. Bangladesh's condition remains in better position amid global crisis. Our GDP has increased by 7-8 times while per capita income has also increased".

He said AL has given the highest importance to humanity and ensured equal rights to all irrespective of religions, castes and tribes. “People will vote for Awami League for the development of this country," the AL presidium member said.

Since the party's establishment, AL is highlighting its achievements in various sectors, including economic, social, cultural and political fields, Razzaque said, adding, in line with that, AL has clearly mentioned its goals, objectives, aspirations of the nation and strategy to achieve those in the election manifesto for the upcoming polls.

In the meeting, the leaders from different professional bodies presented their valuable opinions on what issues should be included in the manifesto of the Awami League for the 12th JS polls.
