Leaders and activists of ‘Chakrite Probesher Boyoshshima 32 Chai’ demand the extension of the age limit to 32 years for entrance into employment as a stimulus due to Conavirus Pandemic.
They made the demand at a press conference at the Sagar-Runi auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity on Monday.
Educational institutions in the country remained closed for more than a year due to Covid-19. Recruitment tests for all types of jobs also remained suspended. If all the universities open when the rate of corona transmission decreases, higher educational institutions are likely to face longer session jam.
Taslima Lima, a member of the central committee of the organization, read out a written statement at the press conference. She put forward various arguments in favour of extending the age limit to 32 years.
She said, “The world today is now at a great war against an invisible virus. Therefore, the government has announced incentive packages in various sectors to keep the socio-economic condition stable. But government job aspirants are deprived of incentives. To reduce the unemployment rate in the country, the entry limit for employment should be 32 years.”
In the last one year, only the 41st BCS preliminary examination was held. Apart from this, no big job test was taken. Recruitment test of banks has been postponed.
She further said that in the case of general students, the age limit for application for entry into government service is 30 years. But in the case of assistant judges, the age limit is 32 years, while in the case of BCS health, the age limit is 32 years. On the other hand, in the case of different quotas, 32 years is also observed at this age. Divisional candidates get the opportunity up to 35 years. So, during the Corona, ordinary job -seekers are not getting 30 years. Corona has already taken away almost a year and a half of everyone's life.
Students in Corona period have been losing almost two years. Therefore, she demanded to extend the age of entry into government service to 32 years along with all kinds of Corona period incentives of the government.
