Md. Anamul Hasan Kawsar, a distinguished student of Jagannath University (JnU), has received the Jalalabad Gold Award for Academic Excellence in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements.
The award was presented at the Freshers' Reception, Academic Excellence Award and Farewell Ceremony 2026, held on July 23 at the Central Auditorium of Jagannath University and organised by the Jalalabad Students' Welfare Association, Jagannath University.
The award was handed over by the chief guest, Professor Dr Md Rais Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University and Chief Adviser of the Jalalabad Students' Welfare Association.
The programme was chaired by Mazharul Islam Tanvir, President of the Jalalabad Students' Welfare Association, and moderated by Rezaul Islam Tamim, General Secretary of the organisation.
Md. Anamul Hasan Kawsar secured first position in both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Department of Theatre, Jagannath University, graduating with a CGPA of 3.85 in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) programme and a perfect CGPA of 4.00 in the Master of Arts programme.
Earlier, he also achieved GPA 5.00 in both the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations from the science stream. The prestigious award recognises his consistent academic excellence throughout his academic journey.
The ceremony was attended by Dr Ziaul Islam Munna, APS, Personal Wing of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia; Professor Dr Sabina Sharmin, Treasurer of Jagannath University; advisers of the Jalalabad Students' Welfare Association, faculty members, students and invited guests.
Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Md. Anamul Hasan Kawsar said, "This recognition is a great honour for me. It inspires me to pursue excellence in education, research and my professional career with greater dedication. I sincerely thank my teachers, family and well-wishers for their continuous support."
Md. Anamul Hasan Kawsar is currently pursuing an MPhil at the Department of Theatre, Jagannath University. Professionally, he serves as Team Lead, Public Relations and Communications at Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS-Global).
