On Friday, Jisshu U Sengupta began shooting for Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial comeback, Sadak 2. Said a Tollywood source, “He has already joined the unit in Ooty. On his first day, he shot with Alia Bhatt.” Jisshu, who was recently shooting for a Telugu film in Hyderabad, will return to the shoot after the first schedule of Sadak 2. About how he landed the role, Jisshu had earlier told us, “Mahesh sir and Pooja Bhatt know me for a really long time. They had also seen Rajkahini and we were in touch over the past few years. Mahesh sir had offered me another film that I couldn’t do. But we were in talks. He knew the kind of films I wanted to be a part of. In February, I had just wrapped up some work in Mumbai, when I met him. Pooja Bhatt was also there. The following day, she messaged me saying, ‘Papa wants to meet you. He wants to discuss a role with you. Would you be free?’ I asked if I could meet him in the evening. He narrated me the story once I was there. I was taken aback on hearing what he wanted me to do. I asked for a day’s time to think over. But that night, I messaged Pooja saying, ‘It would be a pleasure for me to do the role’. I went back to discuss the details. I was in Mumbai again for work and was in touch with them. On May 25, we met for the look set and that’s when I got my script.” On Friday, Jisshu’s Tollywood film, Bornoporichoy, directed by Mainak Bhaumick, hit the screens, but the actor could not make it to the special screening because of his work commitments.
