Jibannagar police station of Chuadanga arrested one person named Anwar Hossain Mintu along with a modern US made pistol, 5 rounds of fresh bullets and a magazine. He was arrested from inside Shimul Hotel in Andulbaria Bazaar of Jibannagar Upazila at 5 pm on Wednesday. The arrested Anwar Hossain Mintu is the son of Munna Biswas of Anshtala neighborhood of Jibannagar town.
According to the police, a police team led by Jibannagar Police Inspector Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman conducted a raid at Shimul Hotel in Andulbaria Bazar based on secret information. At that time, the police arrested Anwar Hossain Mintu from inside the hotel. Later, his body was searched and a sophisticated pistol, 5 live rounds of ammunition and a magazine were recovered.
Jibannagar police officer-in-charge Abdul Khalek said that a case against the arrested Anwar Hossain Mintu under Arms Act is under process in Jibannagar police station.
