Jibananada poetry fair held

A two-day ‘Jibananda Poetry Fair-2021’ began on Varendra College premises in Rajshahi city on Friday.

Kabikunja, a leading literary organisation, is hosting the fair where many poets and literary cultural personalities from different parts of the country gathered.

Rajshahi City Corporation mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the opening ceremony as the chief guest while Bangla Academy director General poet Mohammad Nurul Huda inaugurated it with Kabikunja president freedom fighter professor Ruhul Amin Pramanik in the chair. 

Assistant high commissioner of India Shri Sanjeev Kumar Bhati, Rajshahi University vice chancellor Golam Sabbir Sattar Tapu, Bangladesh Public Service Commission member poet Asad Mannan, Kabikunja general secretary poet Ariful Haque, poet Makid Haider, and poet and researcher professor Tashikul Islam Raja, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, mayor Liton said that to the nation-building activities and to make a non-communal country, the contribution of the literary and cultural personalities is very significant. He told the audience that the present government is trying relentlessly to this end. 

To make society beautiful, he also underscored the need for boosting literary and cultural practices.
