A fire gutted a jhut (garment waste) warehouse in Salna area of Gazipur on Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out at the jhut warehouse around 12:30 pm and engulfed the adjoining houses, said Hiron Mia, station officer of Bhogra Modern Fire Service Station.
On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after an hour.
The fire also gutted a number of tin-shed houses near the warehouse, he said.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be determined after an investigation, he added.
