Published : 05 Dec 2020 09:49 PM

Freedom Fighters (FFs) of Jhenaidah are going to observe the Jhenaidah Free Day today (Sunday). The district town was liberated on December 6 in 1971. The hard earned red and green flags were hoisted in the sky of the town on that day.

Ex-commander of Jhenaidah district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Command Makbul Hossain said they would organise the programme with limited scale. The FFs will hoist national flag and Muktijuddher Pataka (flag of the freedom fighting period) at old DC Court.

Later a doa and milad mahfil will be held at Awami League office in Jhenaidah town for the salvation of the freedom fighters as well as the wellbeing of the countrymen.

They will arrange special prayer for the salvation of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The FFS will also recall the then sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Mahbub Uddin Ahmed as he had contributed a lot during the liberation war movement during his government service in Jhenidah.
