Lawmaker of Jhenaidah-2 (Jhenaidah and Harinakundu) Tahjib Alam Siddiquee Somi donated two units of high-flow nasal canola machines to treat the corona virus infected patients in Jhenaidah.
The item was handed over to Jhenaidah civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum in a simple ceremony in her office on Monday morning. Jhenidah municipality unit Awami League president Jiban Kumar Biswas handed over the machines to the civil surgeon on behalf of the lawmaker.
One of the machines will be used at Jhenaidah Sadar hospital, while the remaining at Jhenaidah Covid 19 hospital for the better treatment of the corona infected patients.
The machines will ensure supply of 70 liters of oxygen per hour to reduce the death risk of the covid 19 infected persons, civil surgeon said.
Dr. Jakir Hossain, medical officer of the office of the civil surgeon, also corona spokesman Dr. Prasenjit BIswas Partha and Juba League leader Naser Alam Siddiquee among others were present during the time.
Expressing the motive of the government of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina, civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum said the government has taken the challenge to fight against corona virus or any other havoc with their utmost sincerity and efforts. No one will die without treatment in the hospitals.
She had advised the medical professionals including physicians, nurses and others to treat the corona infected or suspected persons with utmost sincerity to ease their sufferings making the society corona virus free, Dr. Salina Begum said.
