Ex president of Jhenaidah press club, United News of Bangladesh (UNB) Jhenaidah district correspondent and eminent human rights activist and educationist Principal Aminur Rahman Tuku had passed away on Monday morning at a Dhaka hospital (Inna lillahe wa inna…… rajeeun). He was 77. He left behind his wife, four sons and a number of near and dear ones to mourn.
He was also an editor of a local daily Dainik Jhenaidah. He was swerving with the UNB since long.
Family sources said Tuku fallen sick due to cardiac arrest on August 24 and rushed to Al Manaar hospital in Dhaka in a critical state. He went under a brain surgery and taken to coronary care unit where he had breathed his last at about 9am on Monday.
As the news about death of Aminur Rahman spread in Jhenaidah, each and every media activists were shocked. Jhenaidah press club and other media houses expressed their deep shock. Bangladesh nationalist party (BNP), Jamaat E Islami, Anti-discriminatory students’ movement Jhenaidah district unit, National Citizens Party (NCP) and Gana Adhikar Parishad Forum had expressed their sock over the death. The body might be buried at Jhenaidah central graveyard after the Esha prayer at 9pm at Wazir Ali high school ground, the family sources said.
