Jhenaidah BCL activists help farmers by harvesting paddy

The activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Jhenaidah have harvested the ripen paddy of a poor farmer in Sadar upazila. The BCL men harvested the paddy from the plot of Akkas Ali at Muraridah village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Sunday morning continued till noon. The paddy was harvested maintaining social distancing.

BCL Jhenaidah district unit president Rana Hamid and general secretary Abdul Awal led the team where a total of 23 activists participated. 

When contacted, Rana Hamid said they came to know that farmer Akkas Ali was in trouble when his paddy was lying ripen in the fields for harvesting. 

As per the direction of the Prime Minster, also ruling Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina, they rushed to spot and harvested the paddy from two bighas of land united. 

The BCL men said they were very glad to stand by the poor farmer when he was not in a position to harvest ripen paddy from his plot for want of money.

Farmer Akkas Ali when contacted said he was very impressed when the BCL men had furnished the ripen Boro harvesting paddy from two bighas of land very fast. It had saved his money and protected the crop from probable damaged by rain or storm any time. This sort of activities by the students’ fronts might help lot for the poor and needy farmers when they need, Akkas Ali said.
