Jhalokathi police holds meeting on new traffic law

Traffic Department of Police organised a public awareness appraisal meeting with transport owners and the labourers aiming at the implementation of the newly enacted "New Road Transport Law-2018" at the Petrol Pump crossing in Jhalokathi on Saturday.

Presided over by Al Mamun, In charge of Traffic Police, the meeting was addressed, among others by Fatiha Yeasmin, Superintendent of Police of Jhalokathi as the chief guest, Additional Police Super SM Mahmud Hasan, Municipality Mayor Liakat Ali Talukder, President of Jhalokathi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Salah Uddin Ahmed Salek, Councillor Tarun Karmaker and Joint General Secretary of district Bus, Minibus Owners Association Nasir Uddin Ahmed.

Chief guest Fatiha Yeasmin said, the enactment of the new law is not essentially meant for awarding punishment to anyone. The aim of this rule is to make people more respectful towards the law and to become more conscious. She also sought cooperation from all to implement the new law. Later on, the Superintendent of police discussed openly regarding the pros and cons of the new law with the drivers of the vehicles. Officer in charge of Sadar Police station Abu Taher Mian, Incharge of Traffic Police Al Mamun, Inspector Habibur Rahman and Adel Akbar were present during the open discussion.
