According to the country's media, police have arrested a man involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, one of Asia's largest industrial conglomerates, head of Bashundhara Gold Refinery and an honorary member of Bangladesh Jewelers Association.
On the one hand, the issue is as worrying as it is hopeful. Bangladesh Jewelers Association applauded the police force for resisting the blueprint for the assassination of Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
This heinous incident has caused widespread outrage among ordinary jewelers in the country as Anvir, an honorary member of Bangladesh Jewelers Association, has taken various constructive initiatives including setting up country’s first gold refinery. On behalf of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association, leaders of the association demanded a proper investigation into the assassination attempt and punishment of the culprits within a short period of time.
