Jet fuel price for domestic route flights has gone up again. The price of jet fuel has been increased by Tk 5 and now it stands at Tk 130 per liter. Padma Oil Company under Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has announced the price hike Wednesday last.

According to BPC, the price of jet fuel has been increased by Tk 5 for domestic route flights. Earlier, the price of jet fuel per liter was Tk 125. The new price has been implemented since the price hike was announced.

However, the price of oil has fallen due to the operation of international flights. According to the new rate, oil for operating international flights could be purchased for USD 1 per liter instead of USD 1.09.

It is learnt that the price of fuel has increased by Tk 85 in a span of 2 years. Earlier in October 2020, the price of jet fuel per liter for domestic flights was fixed at Tk 46. Then in 2021, it was increased several times and at last the price was fixed at Tk 77. In January 2022, the price of jet fuel was reduced in two stages, but later it was gradually increased to Tk 125. Similarly, in February 2021, jet fuel prices were set at 50 cents ($0.50) per liter for international routes. It was
