The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka Young and JCI Dhaka West have distributed raincoats among the rickshaw pullers.
The programme called ‘Rain Shelter’ was held on Tuesday in Gulshan 2 residential area. Rain coats were given to more than a hundred rickshaw pullers. Hundreds of masks were also distributed which were sponsored by "Pizzawala" the Pizza Shop, the JCI said in a statement.
Local President of JCI Dhaka Young Nazmul Hossain Shobuz, Local President of JCI Dhaka West Taha Yeasin Ramadan, and President of JCI Dhaka United Md Ashikur Rahman were present on this occasion. Board Members and members of JCI Dhaka Young and West were also present. Local General Legal Counsel of JCI Dhaka Young Rabeya Nasir Ovi and member Titas Saha were the coordinators of the programme. The members of JCI felt that such an effort will make the rickshaw pullers’ journey a little easier in the rain.
They expressed their determination to continue such public welfare programmes in the future as well.
The JCI is an organisation of enterprising young people between the ages of 18 and 40. There are currently 16 local chapters of JCI working in Bangladesh.
