The inauguration ceremony of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh’s new committee was held at Le Meridien Dhaka on Friday. Sarah Kamal was presented with the President’s Chain by the 2019 National President Irfan Islam and former National Presidents of JCI Bangladesh. Kamal will preside as National President of JCI Bangladesh for the year 2020.
Nasrul Hamid, State Minister of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources, was present as the Chief Guest at the occasion. US Ambassador Earl Miller and FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim were also present. Delegates from different JCI Chapters around the world also attended the event.
From JCI Japan IsshoKajiwara, Vice President; Tomoyuku Hayashi, Chairman, Asia Establishment; TsuguyukiKarahashi, Vice Chairman, Asia Establishment attended the event. Guests from JCI Hong Kong included Ezgine Chong, National Global Goals Director; Tiffany Leung, National Publication Director. From JCI India, Ravi Shankar, Advisor and JCI Indonesia, National President and Immediate Past President, Alexander Tio attended the event.
This was one of the most prominent yearly programmes of JCI Bangladesh. The JCI is a worldwide organisation of young professionals and leaders between the ages of 18 and 40. The organisation is found in over 120 countries and has a membership of 200,000 across the world.
It works to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing the opportunity for young people to develop the leadership skills, social responsi¬bility, fellowship, and entrepreneurship necessary to create positive change. The JCI Headquarters is in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
As a part of JCI –an international voluntary organization, JCI Bangladesh is running its operation in Bangladesh with around 13 local chapters with a member base of more than 700 and the local chapters are functioning to serve the community, society and on the national level.
