Jaya’s win on India’s ‘Black Lady’

For the second time ‘Debi’ starrer actress Jaya Ahsan has won the 'Black Lady' of India. Previously, OTT platform Hoichoi awarded her with the Performer of the Year prize for her performance in critically acclaimed films 'Konttho' and 'Robibaar’.

Prominent actor Jaya Ahsan bagged the Best Actress (Critics) award for her roles in 'Bijoya' and 'Robibaar' at the Joy Filmfare Awards (Bangla), which was held at an elite hotel in Westin, Kolkata Kolkata on the night of March 31. Apart from Jaya Ahsan, almost all the star artistes-producers of Tollywood took part in it.

It is learnt that this is the first time in the history of Filmfare that someone has been nominated in the same category for two films together.

Jaya Ahsan gave an official response after 3 days of receiving this award. She said that even after taking home the award for the second time, it made a special impression on her life.

In Jaya's words, '' Filmfare's Krishna Ramani came to Bangladesh again. It is an honour, great joy itself. Any award is a milestone that tells the artist, "You go through it."

"When the award came, it was the last day of March. Bangladesh is celebrating 50 years of liberation war. This year is also the golden jubilee of the Bangladesh-India alliance, which started with blood ties in the war of liberation, the stream of love of the people of Bangladesh and India is flowing inside the film 'Bijoya'. The Padma character in this film I made came from the depths of the life of Bangladesh, she added.
