Jaya Ahsan, a popular actress in both sides of the border is now spending more time in Kolkata than Dhaka. There is no end to her busyness with regular film releases and shooting in Kolkata. Jaya starrer film ‘Kantha’ was released in India on May 10 this year. Shivprasad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Roy made the film. Jaya garnered a lot of praise for her acting in this film.
This time it is being released in Bangladesh too.
Jaya Ahsan confirmed the news from Kolkata. The actress said, “The film is going to Bangladesh based on the agreement of SAFTA.” The actress didn’t want to say anything more regarding this since the film is due at the Bangladesh Censor Board. Only then will the concerned release the details about the release.
However, a reliable source says that if all goes well, ‘Kantha’ will be released in more than a hundred theaters in Bangladesh in November.
The film is produced by India’s Windows Production House. Jaya said about the picture, “It is a story about coming back. You can see here I am speaking in an esophageal voice beyond the normal voice.
The esophageal voice actually works for those who have had to cut off the soundbox due to cancer in the vocal cords. I had to train to speak in this voice before the shooting.
Because, if I do not learn then how will I teach. I’m a teacher in this movie. My job is to teach people who have lost their voice because of cancer how to speak. In fact, this is a wonderful film.”
