Jaya Ahsan is spreading her light on both sides of the Bengal borders. In Bangladesh, Jaya is a well-known name and she has also made her name in West Bengal. One after another she is taking the film scenario there to newer heights.

Recently, Jaya Ahsan has performed in the film ‘Kantho’ by Shivprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. The film has been released in West Bengal yesterday. Jaya Ahsan is very excited about the film as expressed by her Facebook posts where she talked about various issues including her own character in the film.

Regarding her own character in the film Jaya says, “Kantha, directed by Shivprasad and Nandita Roy, is a great film. I played the role of a spa pathologist or spa therapist. I have never played such a character before.  No other such film portraying a vocal cancer patient has ever been made before. This is a very inspiring film.”

According to Jaya, this is a film about a turn around. Jaya says, “Sometimes there are times in our lives when it seems that everything is finished and life is running out. Then we become frustrated. At that time, some of us chose the path of suicide, become addicted to drugs or get engaged in bad work. This film is not just for cancer patients. This is a very encouraging film for anyone. Those who are frustrated, have a look at this film.”

The central role in the film has been played by director Shivprasad himself. Also acting in the film are Paoli Dam, Kanika Bandopadhyay, Biplob Dasgupta, Poran Bandopadhyay and others.
