Md. Nur Alam, Rupganj Correspondent: The Rupganj branch of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha in Narayanganj distributed small loan cheques to women entrepreneurs on Wednesday morning. The event took place at the Rupganj Upazila Parishad auditorium.
The programme was presided over by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Chairman of the organisation, Md. Saiful Islam Joy. Special guests included Upazila Organiser Shahara Parvin, Field Officers Moseda Yasmin and Afia Sultana. Local dignitaries, journalists, and the loan recipients were also present.
The highlight of the event was the loan distribution segment. Cheques of Tk 25,000 each were handed over to 36 women selected for the small loan scheme.
Organised with the aim of promoting women's economic empowerment and self-reliance, the event focused on providing financial support to underprivileged and marginalised women in Rupganj. The objective was to enable them to start small businesses or expand existing ones, thereby fostering entrepreneurship and improving livelihoods within the community.
