‘Jatiya Natya Utsab 2020’ ends today

'Jatiya Natya Utsab 2020', organised by Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF), ends today. The 18-day festival was held in all 64 districts, simultaneously, with the theme, 'Jongibaad- Obokkhoy-Durniti, Manbey Na E Sangskriti'. The festival was inaugurated on February 12, by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through a video conference from Ganabhaban and the closing ceremony will be held today.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs, K M Khalid will be present as the chief guest during the ceremony. Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Kamal Hossain will be present as the special guest. The event will be presided over by BGTF Chairman and Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Liaquat Ali Lucky. Representatives of all groups from the Bangladesh Group Theater Federation will be present at the ceremony.

More than 30,000 theatre activists from 400 theatre troupes across the country are participating in the festival which was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Art Academy. As part of the festival, 302 theatre productions were staged at different venues of BSA, Mahila Samiti and all district Shilpakala Academy premises.
