The Jasim Uddin Scholarship Programme, a visionary initiative by UAE-based businessman Alhaj Md. Jasim Uddin, was officially launched on Tuesday with form distribution at Noapara High School, Noapara Degree College, and Muhammadiya Adarsha Madrasa in Urkirchar Union. Entirely self-funded, the programme is designed to support meritorious yet financially disadvantaged students across Rauzan, Chattogram, covering full academic costs including tuition and examination fees.
The project will benefit students from 64 secondary schools, 11 colleges, and 35 madrasas within the upazila. Additionally, under the Jasim Uddin Memorial Scholarship, the top three performers in HSC and Alim exams across Rauzan will receive one-time grants of Tk 3 lakh, Tk 2 lakh, and Tk 1 lakh respectively. Similarly, SSC top scorers will be awarded Tk 2 lakh, Tk 1.5 lakh, and Tk 1 lakh respectively.
The launch ceremony featured a video address by Jasim Uddin and was presided over by Noapara High School Headmaster Muhammad Habib Ullah. Other attendees included his brother Mokhtar Ahmed, college principal Jahangir Alam, and several local dignitaries and educators.
