A schoolgirl was raped allegedly by one of her neighbours at Purbapara of Bashuari village under Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore on Wednesday night. The girl is a Class Eight at a local school,
Mother of the victim girl filed a case with Abhaynagar Police Station accusing . Shamim Hasan, 18 , son of Shahidul Hasan of the upazila. Police arrested the rapist at night after the case filed.
According to the case statement, Shamim, who often used to stalk the girl on her way to and from the school, entered the victim's house when none of her family members were present at about 7:00 pm on Wednesday and raped her forcibly.
Hearing her scream, when a neighbouring woman entered the room the culprit fled the scene, police said. The girl was sent to Jashore general Hospital for medical test.
Abhaynagar Police Station OC (Investigation) Milon Kumar Mandal said the rapist Shamim was arrested at night. The raped schoolgirl was sent to Jashore general Hospital for medical examination.
