Monihar Cinema Hall is set to reopen as Monihar Cineplex in Jashore after a significant renovation. Known as a favorite among movie lovers, this iconic theatre has a seating capacity of over a thousand and is undergoing modernization to enhance the movie-watching experience.
Manager Tofazzal Hossain informed Channel i online that 90% of the renovation work is complete. The project is being managed independently, with plans to convert the first floor into a modern cineplex. Currently, 66 seats will be available in this upgraded space, and further changes are planned for other floors in the future.
The new cineplex will open in November, coinciding with the release of the film "Dorod." Final touches, including decoration, screen installation, and advanced seating arrangements, are in progress. Essential installations, such as air conditioning, attractive lighting, and a Dolby surround sound system, have been completed to provide a comfortable environment for moviegoers.
Monihar Cinema Hall has a rich history and has shown various films, including "Poran," "Hawa," "Priyotoma," "Rajkumar," and "Toofan," since the pandemic. With a growing interest in high-quality films, the new Monihar Cineplex aims to become a popular entertainment spot for families in the greater Jashore area.
Jashore is known as the country's first digital city and has a rich cultural heritage. Established on December 8, 1983, Monihar Cinema Hall has been a key landmark, surviving while other local cinemas closed. Tofazzal Hossain believes that the new cineplex will not only preserve the cinematic experience but also attract a new audience and fulfill the expectations of many film enthusiasts in the region.
