Jashore prepared to fight coronavirus

A govt, 3 private hospitals with 45 doctors to provide healthcare

A government and three private hospitals have been prepared in Jashore to control the coronavirus pandemic. In these hospitals, 45 doctors will be providing medical care to the corona patients.

At the same time, two residential hotels have been prepared to provide accommodation for the doctors and nurses providing healthcare services in these hospitals. Besides, the dormitory building of Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park will also be kept ready along with these two hotels for accommodation purpose.

Medical service providers during corona crisis will be receiving transportation facilities. Moreover there will be financial incentives for them. Private Service providers will also be associated with government officials and employees to receive these assistance. Ambulances have also been kept ready to transport the corona patients to the hospitals as well.

The information of these initiative taken to fight corona virus, were announced at a meeting of the district committee formed to prevent corona transmission in Jashore. Deputy Commissioner of Jashore Mohammad Shafiul Arif presided over the meeting held at Jashore Circuit House on Tuesday night. 

Among others, Commanding Officer of Joint Force in Jashore Lt Colonel Neyamul Halim Khan, Superintendent of Police Muha­mmad Ashraf Hossain, Principal of Jashore Medical College Dr. Gias Uddin, Superintendent of Medical College Hospital Dilip Kumar Roy, Civil Surgeon Sheikh Abu Shahin, General Secretary of Bangladesh Medical Association’s Jashore unit MA Bashar and President of Jashore Press Club Zahid Hasan Tukun spoke at the meeting.

Civil Surgeon Sheikh Abu Shahin informed at the meeting that so far a total of 280 samples had been sent from Jashore to the labs of IEDCR, IPH, Khulna Medical College and Jashore University of Science and Technology for testing.  

Dilip Kumar Roy, Superintendent of the Medical College Hospital, said the plan has been prepared with the help of three sub-committees formed to prevent corona infection. The current crisis will be dealt with sincerity and concerted efforts even if some materials are in short supply. However, he added that some of the government-provided benefits and financial assistance letters from the ministry have reached them already.
