Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun sought Japanese support to develop the country’s potential industries for achieving the development goals, Vision-2021, Vision-2041 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “Knowledge, skills, technology and investment of the Japanese investors will take forward the country’s industrial sector,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a loan agreement function of the Ghorasal Polash Urea Fertilizer Project (GPUFP) at Hotel InterContinental in the city on Sunday, said a press release on Monday, reports BSS.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, Lawmaker Dr Anwarul Ashraf Khan, Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) to the Prime Minister’s Office Md Abul Kalam Azad and Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Naoki Ito attended the function as special guests while Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim presided over.
Kamal Mojumder said the government is providing all sorts of effort to make self-reliant of the country’s fertilizer production. “We have set a target to export fertilizer after fulfilling the domestic demand. As part of this, we are establishing a high growth fertilizer factory,” he added.
