Opponents beat Moazzem Hossain, president of Jamuna Fertilizer Factory Workers Union and president of Sarishabari Regional Branch of Jatiya Sramik League, for standing in favour of boat in Jamalpur's Tarakandi. The incident took place at Tarakandi intersection on Tuesday. Injured Moazzem Hossain has been admitted to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex. Injured Moazzem Hossain alleged that he was going to his workplace at Jamuna Fertilizer Factory in a rickshaw van from home. When the truck reached Tarakandi Junction, 12/13 of the opponents including Rafiqul Islam, Mosharf Hossain Morshed and Raihan Ali attacked him. Injured Moazzem Hossain was rescued by locals and admitted to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex.
Moazzem Hossain's younger brother Musta fizur Rahman's wife Jelly Akhtar filed a complaint at Sarishabari Police Station as the plaintiff.
