Jamalpur observes National Walking Day

National 'Walking Day' has been observed for the 7th time with the determination to stay healthy. The day is being celebrated since 2017 under the motto 'To keep the body healthy, walking is the key'. On the occasion of the day, Bangladesh Walking Club marched from Shahbagh in the capital to Press Club with banners and placards on Saturday morning. Also, National 'Walking Day' is being celebrated in different districts of the country in conjunction with Dhaka.

Bangladesh Walking Club vice-president Habibur Rahman was present in the chairmanship, the founder of the organization Dr. Abu Noman Mohammad Atahar Ali, the central president of the organization and Bangladesh Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Md. Farooq Hossain Tapadar, General Secretary Jewel Chowdhury, Organizing Secretary Zahirul Haque, Finance Secretary Enayet Hossain, Co-Editor Jasim Uddin, Dhaka Metropolitan Branch President Mamunur Rashid, General Secretary Gazi Tanzil, Central Member and Editor and Publisher of Desh Pratid 24 Mostak Ahmed Monir and others.

Also, since 2014, the organization has been distributing winter clothes and new clothes for Eid among street children and neglected children in remote areas of different districts as part of various social activities. In all kinds of calamities, the organization appears with the members of the club to help people.

Speakers on Walking Day said that walking is important for everyone.

There is no substitute for walking for health. If we want to stay healthy and disease-free, we need to pay attention to some things. One is walking, exercise and healthy food. For those who are not physically active, walking is a good exercise. It is essential to stay healthy. To eliminate constipation, one should walk regularly for at least half an hour every day to stay free from diabetes.
