We noticed that Jamaat-e-Islami, its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir and anti-liberation forces-led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are now creating chaos again in the country. It was the BNP-Jamaat clique which had burnt many people to death, set fire to scores of vehicles and destroyed thousands of roadside trees during 2013-15 in the name of so-called movement to dislodge the government.

BNP and its ally Jamaat during 2013-2015 killed some 500 innocent people and injured over 3,500 others in the name of so-called ‘movement’.

As the BNP leaders have failed to get support from foreigners to oust Sheikh Hasina-led government, the party let the Jamaat, its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir and anti-liberation forces to carry out arson terrorism across the country again in order to foil the next general election. Leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir set at least two motorcycles on fire on the road in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) in Dhaka’s Shahbagh in the early hours of Tuesday.

We believe our country is now

a safe haven for all people

irrespective of caste, creed,

 and religious affinity

The incident took place when Jamaat-Shibir activists staged a protest around the ambulance carrying the body of convicted war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi. They demanded that Sayeedi’s janaza be held in Dhaka. Later, police rushed to the spot and fired tear gas shells to disperse them.

Besides, scores were injured including police officials after clashes broke out between Jamaat-Shibir activists and police in Chattogram over the gayebana janaza of convicted war criminal and Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi. They also attacked police and vandalised five police cars.

We must remain alert about the communal forces. Besides, law enforcement agencies must foil conspirators so that they will not be able to create instability by launching arson attack. It is very clear that BNP-Jamaat clique is behind all the unrest occurring in the country now as they want to destabilise the country at any cost.

We the people of the country, will have to unitedly build resistance against the evil forces. We believe our country is now a safe haven for all people irrespective of caste, creed, and religious affinity as democracy is practiced here. If anyone tries to create chaos or launch arson attacks in the country in order to foil the next national elections,  they must not be spared. Therefore, countrymen must have to stay alert so that the anti-liberation elements, killers and arson terrorists never return to power.
