A prayer was held by Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Stakhira unit in memory of the martyr students of anti-discriminatory student movement, along with providing cash assistance to the martyrs’ families, at Shaheed Abdur Rajjak Park in Satkhira town on Saturday.

The chief guest Mia Golam Parwar, former Member of Parliament and Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, handed over Tk one lakh cash to each of the families of four martyrs of Satkhira, who were killed during the anti-discriminatory student movement.

The chief guest said we need to be patient about holding an election till the phantoms of the autocrat Awami League government, who still occupy the administration sector, are removed. We want to help the interim government by giving them time until the country is reformed. The autocrat Awami League government killed, abducted, filed fake cases and oppressed the people for 16 years.

The students and people who sacrificed their lives to free the country and localities are national heroes. The martyrs need to be announced heroes by the state. And the killers must be brought under justice in the country. The interim government has already started the judicial process. We welcome them. Moreover, cases have been already filed against mass killer Sheikh Hasina and her associates at the international crimes tribunal. The mass killers who fled the country have to be brought back and brought under justice.

He also said the Jamaat leaders did not make any compromise with the autocrat Awami League despite being victims of inhumane oppression and torture. However, autocrat Sheikh Hasina fled the country. The people of the autocrat created unrest situation in the country using the Hindu brothers. However, students and people of the country have nullified that. The leaders and activists of Jamaat and Shibir are working to build a peaceful Bangladesh by safeguarding the temples, lands and places of Hindu brothers. However, earlier, the people of Awami League occupied the houses and lands of Hindu people, looted them and vandalized their temples. He said that the assistance that was provided to the families of the martyrs will be continued in the future as well.

Satkhira district unit Jamaat Ameer Mufti Rabiul Bashar presided over the programme. Central Organizing Secretary of Jamaat Muhaddis Abdul Khalek, former Ameer of Khulna metropolitan Jamaat Maolana Abul Kalam Azad, Central Working Committee Member of Jamaat Maolana Khalilur Rahman Madani, Ameer of Khulna district unit Jamaat Imran Hussain, Member of Khulna region Jamaat Master Shafiqul Alam, former Secretary of Satkhira district Jamaat Sheikh Nurul Huda, District unit President of Islami Chhatrashibir Imamul Islam, co-coordinator of anti-discriminatory student movement Nazmul Hassan Rony and others spoke at that time.
