Marking the day, AL city and district units organised discussion meetings at different places in the city today.

Speakers at a discussion meeting here today said the killing of the four  national leaders in jail was the most shameful incident in world history.

Describing the incident as a planned and deep-rooted conspiracy after the  killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and his family members on August  15, 1975, the speakers said the killers wanted to erase the ideology and  spirit of the country's liberation war. City AL President Mahtab Uddin  Chowdhury presided over the meeting while AL leaders Alatal Hossain Chowdhury  Baccu, Noyom Uddin Chowdhury, Ibrahim Hossain Chodhury Babul, Advocate  Iftakher Saimul Chowdhury and Dr Neser Uddin Ahmed Monju, among others, took  part in the discussion.

Terming Ziaur Rahman as the main mastermind behind the heinous killings of  four national leaders on November 3, 1975, the city AL leaders demanded  posthumous trial of Ziaur Rahman. "It (the trial) will make the souls of four  national leaders rest in peace", they added.

Apart from Chattogram city, north and south district units of AL and its  various front organizations, Bangladesh Chhatra League Chattogram University,  City College unit, government Commerce College unit, Islamia College unit and  MES College unit brought out separate processions on their respective  campuses demanding proper punishment to the killers of the four national  leaders.
