Jahangir dies

Col (Rtd) Mia Mohammad Jahangir, psc died on Wednesday morning at CMH Dhaka. He was 76. Col. Jahangir was suffering from blood cancer. He joined the then Pakistan Army in 1968. After liberation war, he worked in Brigade Headquarter, Army Headquarter, Log Area, Artillery Centre & School of Bangladesh Army and BGB Sector Office command in various capacities.

Col Jahangir was born in an aristocrat family in Barishal. He was the fourth son of late Altaf Uddin Ahmed and late Zebunnesa Begum. He left behind his wife, 1 son- daughter -in-law, 1 daughter- son-in-law, four grand children, four sisters, and four brothers including host of friends and relatives. Among his brothers elder brother Md. Shahabuddin Ahmed retired as Deputy Chief of Tourism and Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid was retired Secretary of Bangladesh Government, Md. Mahbub Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram was a Superintendent of Bangladesh Police of Dhaka District and younger brother Nasim Ahmed is a businessman.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held today (Thursday) after Zohr prayer at Mohakhali DOHS Mosque and will be buried in Banani Military graveyard. A Doa Mahfil will be held on 9 November at Mohakhali DOHS Mosque for seeking peace of his departed soul.
