On Sunday BSEC Chairman Md Shahidul Haque Bhunya NDS met Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam. After a courtesy call at the head office of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) in Kawran Bazar Dhaka, they met for a bilateral discussion meeting on the development of industrial establishments under BSEC. Among the steps taken under the chairmanship of BSEC are manufacturing of 'Bangla Car' at Pragati Industries Ltd., setting up of environment-friendly ship reprocessing industry at Taltali Upazila of Barguna district and setting up an international standard shipbuilding factory at Patuakhali to support R&D activities on behalf of IUT. Invited. The Vice-Chancellor of IUT expressed interest in working together to collaborate on research and development (RND) projects of BSEC.
They expressed hope that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the two institutions soon. BSEC Director Finance Md Monirul Islam, Secretary Prokou Md. Nazmul Haque Pradhan and Managing Director of Progress Mr. Sharif Mohammad Masud were present.
