Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organised the largest debating tournament of South Asia titled ‘IUB Ascension 2019’ from December 11-14, 2019 at university’s own campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
The university organized this tournament to encourage the young students to be more pragmatic, insightful and exposed to the real-world which will eventually enable them taking leaderships and becomes future leaders.
The grand finale and award giving ceremony of the tournament took place at IUB on Saturday evening. 120 teams from different schools, colleges and universities from the country and abroad participated in this international debate tournament. Apart from all topmost schools, colleges and universities of the country, participants also came from Australia, Malaysia, England, Philippines, Indonesia, India and Nepal. The adjudicators are Jason Xiao from University of Oxford (England), Lucia Arce from University of Cambridge (England), Jessica Musulin from Australian National University, Gigi Gil from Leiden University (Netherlands), Sara Rahim and Mubarrat Wassey from International Islamic University Malaysia and, Taosif Amin Khan from Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University.
