The students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia want an inspiring leader as the Vice Chancellor has the ability to motivate the students and teachers to build up a research oriented university which is a crying need for the university whereas the students are striving for quality education.
On information, the term of the running VC and treasurer of the university will end on August 20, for getting these two high positions over 15 teachers from various universities of the country have already started vying among themselves as well as throwing mud at each other.
However, a lot of questions, speculations and desires are circling in the minds of students, teachers and officials as to who will be the next vice chancellor of the university, and what type of VC is demanded by the students as their guardian?
Bangladesh post speaking to various students of the university collected their views on the issue where, various ongoing problems and possibilities on the campus came up.
Adnan Sakur Sun, a Masters’ student of English department said, “Whether you like it or not, a VC is a public figure who is likely to be a flag bearer of your very own Alma Mater. So, for the sake of my identity I always seek some exalted qualities in the captain of our ship”
Rumana Nourin, a second year student of Information and Communication Technology department expressed her opinion saying, “From current point of view as students we generally expect such a VC who can smoothly lead the systems as well as regulations and who would be honest and sincere by nature and able to remain the leading reputed progression of our university till his time”.
M Billal Hossain of ANT department said, “I would like to see a person in the position of VC in our campus who really wants the welfare of students, must be corruption free and the person who can bring a revolution in the research culture of our university and push the students to be energetic, smart and skilled for the bright future’.
And Delowar Hossain of Mathematics department said, “I want a person as VC who is more energetic, punctual, corruption free and who will emphasize on the demands of students in his every steps and would gift a session jam free campus for us.
