IU students demand action against reckless motorbiking

Students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Tuesday formed a human chain demanding secured campus and prohibition on riding motorbike recklessly on the campus.

To meet the demand, the students brought out a procession from in front of Applied Science and Technology building. The procession ended at Mrittunjoyee Mojib after parading main roads on the campus.

Later, the agitating students formed the human chain securing slogan ‘R Koto Rokto Jhorle, Prosason Tumi Jagbe’. While agitating, the students raised several demands including the speed of Motor Cycle on the campus would be 20 kilo metre per hour high, speed breaker must be built in front of halls, signboard related on road awareness to set on the importance places on the campus.

On March 8, Arafat –Ul-Alam, a third year student of Biomedical Engineering department, was injured by a reckless motorcycle in front of Daina Chatter while two leg of Arafat collapsed.

IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari ensured that the driver should be punished as early as possible and the authorities must be stand in support of the victim.
