IU holds workshop on global citizenship, civic education

A day-long workshop on Global Citizenship and Civic Education was held at Islami University. Today (November 27, Sunday) at 11 o'clock, the workshop held in TSCC room 116 with the participation of Rover Scout Group members was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman.

During the inauguration, the Pro-Vice Chancellor said that to be a good citizen, one must be a real person. The first duty of Scouts members is to serve the citizens. Scout members should always be ready to give civic service. He said, we should not make the same mistake every time. We have to correct ourselves by correcting mistakes and everyone should be aware of their respective responsibilities.

In the opening ceremony, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan said that scout members should devote themselves to building the country as good citizens by holding the ideals of awareness, integrity and humanity.

Rover Scout Group Editor Prof. Dr. Ruhul KM Saleh presided over the event, Registrar (Acting) H. M. Ali Hasan delivered the welcome address. In addition, the chief coordinating officer of BNCC, Professor Dr. Moha: Jahangir Hossain spoke. Conducted by S. A. H. Waliullah

Sabbir Hossain Joy, Facilitator of 'Amio Sunagarik' project was present as a trainer in the workshop.
