The Islamic University (IU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Union in Kushtia has elected a new 33-member executive committee.The announcement came after the unit’s 19th council, held in the Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium on campus, according to a press release issued by office secretary Tanim Tanvir on Sunday.
Nur Alam Siddique from the Fine Arts department (session 2019-20) has been elected president, while Ahmad Galib from the Accounting and Information Systems department (session 2020-21) was chosen as general secretary. Outgoing president Mahmudul Hasan administered the oath.
Key posts include Asifur Rahman, Ahsan Habib Rana, and Mazidul Islam Ujjal as vice-presidents, Monir Hossain and Hasibur Rahman as joint secretaries, Tahmid Hasan Sajib as organising secretary, and Zinnat Maliyat Sima as treasurer.
The unit also held its 19th convention earlier at the university’s ‘Bangla Manch’, where Dr. Sajedul Islam Rubel, former central joint secretary, attended as chief guest.
