The Islamic University (IU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Union warmly received its freshers in a ceremony amid festivity and much enthusiasm. The progressive students’ wing organised the reception programme at the Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman auditorium of the university around 11:00 am.
Prof Dr Anu Muhammad of Economics department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) and Prof Dr Abdul Muyeed of IU Economics department addressed the ceremony as honourable guests with IU Narun Nabi Islam Sabuj, its president was in the chair.
Prof Saiful Islam of Management department, Associate Prof Altaf Hossain of Statistics department and central Chhatra Union secretary general Anik Roy spoke out the programme, among others.
G K Sadik, IU unit secretary delivered the welcome speech here while its joint secretary Rumi Noman moderated the programme. Later, a cultural function participated by the Udichi artists group was held here.
