Professor Dr Mahbubul Arfin, Chairman of Tourism and Hospitality Management department and Secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad unit of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has been appointed as the new hall provost of Jatir-Pita Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hall of the university.
IU Vice chancellor Prof Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam appointed him to post for the next one year, an IU press release confirmed it on Sunday.
He replaced Prof Dr Tapan Kumar Godder of Information and Communication Technology department of the university.
The newly appointed provost took charge in a function at its hall office around 12:00pm.
Prof Dr M Anowar Hossain, president of IU Shapla Forum, its Secretary Prof Dr Mamunur Rahman, IU proctor Prof Dr M Jahangir Hossain, Students Advisor Prof Dr Selina Nasrin, Prof Dr Shamsul Alam, provost of Sheikh Hasina Hall were attended the charge hand over programme, among others.
Later, the new provost Dr Arfin placed a floral wreath at the feet of' 'Mukir Ahoban' a Mujib Mural in front of the hall.
