‘Ityadi’ to showcase Sherpur’s culture, heritage on Sept 6

The popular magazine show "Ityadi" will highlight Sherpur's rich culture and heritage in its latest episode. Filmed at the beautiful Madhutila Eco Park in Nalitabari Upazila, Sherpur, the episode will air on BTV and BTV World on Friday, September 6, at 8 pm. The show was initially planned for July 26 but was postponed due to the situation at that time.

"Ityadi," created by Fagun Audio Vision and hosted by Hanif Sanket, is known for exploring the history, culture, and natural beauty of different regions in Bangladesh. This episode features a special folk music performance by Sherpur’s renowned Pala singer Tara Bayati and Pantho Kanai, with a song written by Kabir Bakul. The performance highlights the area’s cultural heritage.

The episode also includes a vibrant dance performance by over a hundred local dancers from both Bengali and indigenous communities. The choreography, done by Kamal Kanti Pal, is accompanied by vocals from Rajib and Tanzina Ruma, with musical arrangements by Mehedi. 

True to its tradition, "Ityadi" features a quiz about Sherpur, with participants selected from the audience and joined by musician Animesh Roy. The episode also covers various reports, including Sherpur's tourist spots, archaeological sites, and the unique Tulshimala rice. 

It will also highlight farmer Sentu Kumar Hajong’s research on this rice variety and the human-elephant conflict in the region.

Additionally, viewers will see a special international segment on Beijing, China, featuring landmarks like the Great Wall. The episode includes the popular Nani-Nati (Grandmother-Grandson) skit and several short plays addressing modern social issues. 

The episode features performances by numerous artists, including Solaiman Khoka, Ziaul Hasan, and Shabnam Parvin, among others.
