Iti, Tomari Dhaka wins award in Kazan

‘Iti, Tomari Dhaka’ (Sincerely, Your Dhaka), the first anthology film of Bangladesh, produced by Impress Telefilm, won an award under the category of Russian Film Critics’ Guild at the 15th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival. The seven-day film festival took place in Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia.

On the concluding day of the festival, Ahmed Muztaba Zamal, festival director of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) received the award on behalf of the film’s cast and crew at an award ceremony on April 30. In the global cinema industry, the anthology is a very popular and important genre of films. This type of films is usually the combination of several short length features.

A talented group of filmmakers consisted of 11 directors directed this film. The film ‘Sincerely, Your Dhaka’ had its international release in 23rd Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) last year. Began in 2005, International Muslim Film Festival is an annual festival which takes place in Kazan from April 24 to 30.
