‘Iti Tomari Dhaka’ awaits release

After a long wait Impress Telefilm Ltd’s ‘Iti Tomari Dhaka’ is set to be released in November. Recently, the film received censor clearance. The film won an award under the category of Russian Film Critics’ Guild at the 15th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival. The seven-day film festival took place in Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. It also won the Best Original Screenplay Award at the Jaipur International Film Festival. 

It also participated in about 20 international film festivals including Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Canada, England, South Africa, India's Mumbai Third Eye International Film Festival, Aurangabad Film Festival, 5th Bengaluru International Film Festival, Kolhapur International Film Festival along with Pune and Chennai film festivals.

The background of the film is the constant battle for the lives of the common and poor people of Dhaka, their struggle and survival. Dhaka has its own culture which has been brought out in the first ever omnibus film of Bangladesh. Everything has been skillfully brought out by eleven young directors. They are Ghulam Kibria Faruqi, Mahmudul Islam, Mir Mukarram Hossain, Rahat Rahman Joy, Rabiul Alam Rabi, Syed Saleh Ahmed Sobhan, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Abdullah Al Noor, Tanvir Ahsan, Krishnandhu Chattopadhyay and Nuhash Humayun.

Thirty popular actors inclouding Nusrat Imroz Tisha, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Orchita Sporshia, Iresh Zaker, Shatabdi Wadud have played various roles in the film.
