Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has sold his favorite bat for Tk 20 lakh at an auction to stand by those infected with the coronavirus. He has spent all his money on the welfare of the needy in this pandemic.
In that continuation, local stars are taking part in the auction. Musician Tahsan Khan has already taken part in this special auction through a Facebook page titled 'Auction for Action'.
He auctioned off the original master date copy of his ‘Kathopakathon’ album. There is also a handwritten lyric page of the song ‘Irsha’ which has been taken care of for the past 16 years.
The list includes late fiction writer Humayun Ahmed, poet Nirmalendu Guna, late actor Humayun Faridi, Asaduzzaman Noor, Aly Zaker, director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, band star James, actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Mosharraf Karim, actor Ananta Jalil, Arifin Shuvo, Miles Band’s Maksudul Haque, cricketer Mashrafe bin Mortaza, Liton Das and many others.
Preeti Reza, one of the founders of Auction for Action, said, "The event was started with the aim of helping the helpless in the Coronavirus outbreak. We have already talked to popular and talented stars from different parts of the country.
They all applauded the initiative. The artist who took part in the auction handed over all the earnings to the organization to help the poor.”
She added that tonight’s auction will feature – Poet Nirmalendu Goon's handwritten poetry page, the last pectacles used by the late Humayun Faridi, one of Mashrafe bin Mortaza's 16-year item, Asia Pacific Award winning actress Nusrat Imroz Tisha’s sari, a ball with which Taskin scored the hat-trick against Sri Lanka, a nose ring of Shumi of Chirut band, Guitaris Emon's guitar and drummer Pavel's drums kit, Liton Das's bat with which he scored 121 off 117 balls in the Asia Cup, Soumya Sarkar's first Test century bat, Taskin's hat-trick, Saifuddin's favorite ball, Enamul Haque's winning century bat, legendary footballer Momen Munna's 1989 President Gold Cup champion jersey and much more.
The event also includes the opportunity to star in a film of director Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, hanging out with Baker Vai while sipping a cup of tea at your local tea stall while listening to ‘Hawame Urta Jaye’, inviting MOsharraf Karim to dinner at home, clocking photos with the members of Miles band, going on a long drive with actor Ananta Jalil.
