Italy has agreed to hire Bangladeshi skilled workers in three different fields.
In a political dialogue of the Italian Foreign and International Cooperation Ministry , held at Rome, two sides have been agreed in this regard, a foreign ministry press release said on Thursday.
It said that Italy is interested to hire workers from Bangladesh in the fields of Infrastructure, Ship Building and Hospitality, and the manpower will be taken through bi-lateral migration and mobility arrangement.
Italian Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Maria Tripodi lauded the impressive socio-economic progress of Bangladesh in recent years.
Bangladesh Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) Masud Bin Momen led the Bangladesh delegation in the dialogue while Secretary General of Italian Foreign and International Cooperation Ministry, Riccardo Guariglia led Italian side.
Before the dialogue the two Diplomats signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Italian officials informed that inclusion of Bangladesh successively in the second year (2022) under the Flussi Decree for seasonal and non-seasonal employment of Bangladeshi workers in Italy is satisfactory.
They appreciated the Bangladesh Diaspora for being peace-loving and hard-working.
The Foreign Secretary appreciated the constructive position of the Italian government on the Rohingya issue and urged Italy to exert more pressure on the Myanmar government to take their nationals back.
