Italy expatriate dies in Kishoreganj

A person who returned from Italy to Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj district on Sunday night (22 March). His name Abdul Khalek (60) of village Jagannathpur under Bhairab upazila of the district. He was suffering from fever and shortness of breath. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Sunday (March 22) at around 7:30 pm.

The IEDCR has collected blood samples from the suspect for corona virus. At noon on Monday (March 23th), people from IEDCR came to Bhairab to collect blood samples from the bodies. Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon Dr. Md Mujibur Rahman confirmed this matter. He said the man returned from Italy on February 28. He was suffering from fever and shortness of breath for 3-5 days. However, he did not receive any treatment. 

He was first taken to the Abedin hospital when his condition deteriorated on Sunday (March 22). Later, he was taken to Saeed Yusuf Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. In the incident, the two private hospitals, who were working at the hospital, were asked to stay inside the hospital. The upazila administration has also declared restricted movement of people to several houses around the deceased's house.
