The Italian Air Chief Lieutenant General Alberto Rosso called on his counterpart Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat on Wednesday, said ISPR. During their meeting, Masihuzzaman Serniabat thanked Lieutenant General Alberto Rosso for visiting Bangladesh. He exchanged greetings and spent some time with his Italian counterpart.

They also discussed different issues of bi-lateral interests. During discussion, Lieutenant General Alberto Rosso was briefed on different activities of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF). They expressed hope to continue mutual co-operation to strengthen the existing relationship between Bangladeshi and Italian Air Force.

Earlier in the morning, Italian Air chief visited Shikha Anirban (Eternal Flame) at Dhaka Cantonment and paid homage to the members of Armed Forces martyred during the War of Liberation in 1971 by placing floral wreath at the mausoleum. He also signed the visitor’s book there. On arrival at Air Headquarters, Lieutenant General Alberto Rosso was presented guard of honour by a BAF Contingent. He inspected the guard and took salute.

During his stay in Bangladesh, he will visit different military and civil installations including Prime Minister’s Office, Army Headquarters, Naval Headquarters, Armed Forces Division, BAF Base Bashar and BAF Base Bangabandhu.

Lieutenant General Alberto Rosso along with three delegation members arrived in Bangladesh on 16 October on a three-day official visit. It is expected that the visit will play an important role for strengthening the existing friendly relationship between the Air Forces of the two countries.
